Ayurvedic Medicine: How to Manage Your Pitta and Fire Element
In Ayurveda getting to the root cause of an aliment or imbalance is essential to healing. Root causes boil down to the elements and identifying them either in excess or out of balance in some way. For example, if the fire element is out of balance in an excessive way it can show up physically as rashes and redness on the skin, infections, burning, inflammation, headaches, acne or other skin problems. These are all heat related issues. In the personality excess heat will show up as intensity, extreme competitiveness, arguing, highly critical of the self and others, intense fixations, impatience, frustration, anger, aggression and other heat induced symptoms. The fire elements is dominant in the doshaPitta (Note: to find out what your dominate dosha is sign up for a consultation).
To remedy the root causes of aliments Ayurveda uses nutrition, lifestyle and herbs. The result is longterm as most aliments are due to improper nutrition and lifestyle for a particular constitution. This is done with an initial consultation which is an involved evaluation process of the physical, mental, and emotional body of a person.
Why Ayurveda and other Treatments are needed
Treatments become important because they give immediate relief to a person and a symptom. Treatments can make the nutrition and lifestyle changes take hold quicker. In other words, it is a more gradual process with just the life-style and nutrition although these methods lead to permanent and longterm results, treatments speed everything up.
Treatments can be used to give relief to depleting conditions, to remove excess toxins in the body, bring balance to a system(s), assist in helping a person get off medications, promote relaxation, balance hormones, digestion and efficiency of the body.
